I learned to ski at Brighton, up Big Cottonwood canyon, just a
few minutes from the Salt Lake Valley. I don't consider it
a very good place to ski anymore, since it is now infested with
hip snowboarders, but it still has nostalgia value. I had
intended to go for a short morning hike up to one of the many
lakes in the Brighton area, but once I got there, I decided
to keep going, and going, and going. All told, I ended up
visiting four lakes (Twin, Catherine, Mary, Martha), two passes
(Twin Lakes and Catherine), three peaks (Mount Wolverine, Mount
Tuscarora, and Mount Millicent), and a cirque (Wolverine).
Unfortunately, my big compact flash card had recently died,
so all I got were a few pictures on the 32 MB card that came
with the camera.
