It was hot day down in the valley, over 100 degrees, so I got up
early and made it to the Big Water trailhead, at the end of Mill
Creek Canyon, before dawn. My original destination was Dog Lake,
in the saddle between Mill Creek and Cotonwood Canyons. Once I
got there, though, I decided it was a bit too short and easy of
a hike, so I decided to keep going. So, I continued down into
Big Cottonwood Caynon, and picked up the Desolation Trail. I was
glad I did, because Desolation Lake was a much more rewarding
desintaiton! And, I made it back to my car by about 11:00, before
it started getting too hot.
