Even though it was raining, we decided to drive 45 minutes out to the Honey Island Swamp. We were not disappointed! All of us agreed it was one of the best parts of the whole trip. One interesting effect of the rain was that it caused a mist to hang over the swamp and the river, creating a very creepy effect with the leafless trees and hanging spanish moss.
